In those environments where concrete walls are in the way and where the frequencies in which wireless transmission takes place are full, the AirTies Air4452 does what is almost impossible and provide uninterrupted communications at 5GHz to transfer video/IPTV packets. With the smart frequency selection feature, Air4452 selects the most suitable frequency for itself, and with the QoS (Quality of Service) feature that gives high priority to video packets, Air4452 makes wireless video streaming in the home a reality. N-joy HD movies, music, and photos on your TV wirelessly: AirTies wireless video solutions (including wireless set top boxes) use standards based Wi-Fi networks to deliver reliable HD-quality video streams throughout the entire home. However, providing quality of service in wireless video transmission presents an enormous challenge due to numerous interference and performance limitations inside the home. AirTies follows the IEEE 802.11e standard to prioritize packets. Real-time video packets are tagged enabling routers to give priority to the content of such packets. However, prioritization by itself is not sufficient to solve the real-time video quality problem. AirTies also employs its own patented channel selection methods to use the best channel for video transmission which helps avoid interference problems. At 5GHz there are 22 channels of 20MHz spectrum per channel. These are unlicensed and prone to interference. Interference can come from many devices operating in the spectrum including new WiFi devices or a neighbour using wireless video in an apartment. AirTies scans all 22 channels, monitors traffic and noise in each channel and dynamically changes wireless channels to avoid interference. This dynamic wireless channel change process is completed without any visible interruptions. With jitter avoidance technology, video buffers at both the transmitter (AP) and receiver (STB) manage which packets have been actually received and retransmit lost ones while maintaining packet ordering critical to video. Jitter avoidance technology time stamps each packet and ensures video arrives at a competitor STB as if it was a wired Ethernet connection with a small delay. When the button is pressed, the AirTouch connection begins, and the security settings between AirTies devices are automatically configured. AirTouch is used to automatically create a secure wireless connection for the bridge solution. Extend wireless range It is possible to extend the range of a wireless bridge by adding additional Air4452s. There is no limit to the number of Air4452s that can be used, meaning that a wireless bridge can travel long distances between many obstacles, such as thick concrete walls or several floors in a building. Additional Air4452s are added simply added using AirTouch.
