Orca Interactive and AirTies have joined forces to present the first pre-integrated wireless IPTV and Web TV solution. The solution will include Orca’s RiGHTv middleware, Orca’s COMPASS, the Content Discovery solution for a personalised TV experience, and AirTies’ latest STB with its built-in support for wireless and 3D graphics. Orca chose AirTies STB because it offered state-of-the-art functionality including: high performance, good implementation of the 7413 Broadcom chipset, support for Wi-Fi, IPTV or Web TV.

Dutch service provider Caiw Media is planning a November launch for its new IPTV service, after nearly two years in the planning. Having now changed their set-top box provider to Turkish firm AirTies and their middleware to Nordija, Caiw Media is now hoping to have the system ready in October, in readiness for a commercial launch nationwide in November. The new service will feature standard- and high-definition live broadcast content delivered in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, with 11 high-definition channels expected at launch (rising to 18 by the end of the year), and a total line-up of around 210 channels. The service will also feature wireless distribution of IPTV content and the ability to pause live TV enabled by 2 GB of flash memory integrated into the AirTies set-top box.
