MicroP to distribute new AirTies Air 4420 solutions in UK market
Istanbul, 29th November 2010 - AirTies, the innovative wireless networking and STB vendor, is planning to launch its range of wireless media connectors into the UK consumer market. The wireless home networking solutions, allow access to the internet and the sharing of content amongst all DLNA-enabled devices, free from the limitations of cabling. AirTies has appointed MicroP to develop the UK channel for the new product set.
The innovative Air 4420 product range allows the connection of any DLNA-enabled device including: connected TVs, hybrid STBs, BluRay players, games consoles and printers simply and reliably to the internet, enabling access to OTT content such as the BBC i-Player, YouTube & Facebook on any device. It also frees the set top box from the limitations imposed by cables, removing the need to locate it close to the IP Gateway allowing it to be located in any room in the house. With the addition of a USB plug-in, the Air 4420 allows consumers to save content locally; for example VOD content, games or UGC and share it amongst all network devices Equally DLNA-enabled printers can be wirelessly connected to the network and become accessible from any networked device.
The range of retail bundles to be sold via retail outlets, service providers and specialist AV outlets will comprise of three different bundles aimed at connected TV users, hybrid STB users and gamers. The first wireless bundle will target connected TV users and will comprise of a twin pack of Air 4420s incorporating a DLNA server; one device connects to the existing wireless gateway and the second to the TV; removing the need to have the TV adjacent to the gateway and allowing the TV to access OTT content like the BBC iPlayer via widgets embedded in the hardware.
The second product bundle allows hybrid boxes such as free-to-air terrestrial and satellite STBs; already equipped with Ethernet ports but without a DLNA server; to connect wirelessly to the Internet and work with any wireless gateway, again removing the need for the STB to be located in the direct proximity of the TV screen.
The third product set is aimed a gamers wishing to enhance their gaming experience beyond that available with existing WiFi dongles, offering improved performance and a more robust wireless service. All three wireless bundles utilise AirTies’ patented Mesh Technology to overcome traditional problems of passing wireless signals through solid brick walls throughout the home and use their latest 5GHz 802.11N technology, with dynamic channel management to overcome issues of interference from other household electrical devices. They also feature AirTies ‘One Touch’ set up for ease of installation and maintenance.
MicroP will distribute the range of wireless home networking products through retail, e-commerce, service providers and specialist AV custom installers. AirTies will provide 24x7 hotline support for the products along with a three year warranty.
